After a exciting semi-final against MAJOR which ended 3-2, COR3 ends up in joint 3rd at Norcup 2024.
Last weekend COR3 Esport participated at Norcup 2024 in Sarpsborg. The event is made for e-sports teams to travel and participate in one big LAN, across several game titles, including Rocket League, Fortnite, Overwatch 2, Valorant and Super Smash.
For this tournament, COR3 did not play with their usual roster. Azamil lead the team, borrowing BraunBulldog from Rotaryon 2 and bringing back a veteran in Ocean. The trio had great chemistry ever since the first scrim and performed great at the LAN.
The tournament
In the Rocket League-bracket, we started off the tournament being the 7th seeded team. COR3 finished the group stage as winners after beating Driv IL, MSK Team Elite and Rotaryon New Legends. This meant we play the 2nd placed team from the other group in the semi-finals.
Day 2 started with a exciting game against MAJOR, where COR3 unfortunately didn’t perform at the level they did the day before. In a best-of-5 they ultimately fell short against a thriving MAJOR-team even with coaching from our main roster-starter, luutix.
Friends at LAN
What is a LAN without the people you meet there? Every night the team spent the evening downtown eating with the other teams in the tournament. Even though MAJOR eliminated us from the tournament, we had a great time with them and some of our other opponents.
Overall the event was a great one, which friendships formed and experience was gathered. Until next time, Norcup!
